Hero Bags

All the people I sew for are heros to one degree or another. My Camp Follower Bags and my Hero Bags are not the same. The Hero Bags are made for ladies whose husbands have been killed or seriously wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan. The Camp Follower Bags are made for ladies who are fortunate enough to welcome their husband home at the end of the deployment.

I am truly honored to make these bags. I do not charge for the first couple hero bags I make for a lady. If she wants several bags I make them at a special rate. It is my hope that these bags will assist in the mourning process and be something that the children will keep close to have a bit of their father through the lonely times.

The flag fabric or plain black is the most popular for these bags, but I really love the dreaminess of Amy Butler’s Nigella line.
